Pirates Earn ITA National Honors

Congratulations to Armstrong's ITA National Award winners! Freshman Sven Lalic (left) was named the 2012 ITA DII Men's Tennis National Rookie of the Year, while sophomore Georgi Rumenov (right) was named the 2012 ITA DII Men's Tennis National Player to Watch.

Lalic is the third Pirate to earn National Rookie of the Year honors, joining Phillip Schertel (1992) and Daldo Bonet (2009), while Rumenov is the second Armstrong player to earn National Player to Watch honors, joining Davor Zink (2006).

Meanwhile, Armstrong head coach Simon Earnshaw was named the 2012 ITA DII Women's Tennis National Coach of the Year for the fourth time in his career. Earnshaw was also the women's national winner in 2004, 2006 and 2009.
