Pirates Earn ITA Southeast Region Honors on Friday

Congratulations to Armstrong head men's and women's tennis coach Simon Earnshaw on his ITA Southeast Region Coach of the Year honors for both the men and women teams, released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Friday.

The Pirate players also had several honorees on the men's and women's team. Armstrong senior Kathleen Henry is the Southeast's Arthur Ashe Sportsmanship/Leadership award while Clara Perez was the region's Rookie of the Year. On the men's side, Mikk Irdoja was the region's Senior Player of the Year, while Georgi Rumenov was the Player to Watch and Sven Lalic was the Rookie of the Year.

In Louisville, the ITA will host its annual awards banquet on Tuesday, May 15th, where the national winners will be announced. All of the Pirates' region award winners will be under consideration for the national awards.
